Published on December 02, 2019 (less than 1 minute to read) The current rules and payments that producers must follow to keep actors on a first call or second call during a force majeure event are stipulated in clause T45 of the Pact Equity TV Agreement 2019. Travel payments negotiated prior to the collective agreement and authorisation provided that a continuous working time of seven hours without a food break has been agreed between the BBC and the Walk-On and Supporting Artist (“Continuous Work Day”). These uninterrupted periods normally take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Unlike previous agreements, a tariff increase is now incorporated, which means that there will be an automatic annual increase by the next renegotiation. A late payment clause has also been added, so that if payment is not made in accordance with the agreement, interest can be claimed. The TV landscape has changed rapidly and has become almost unrecognizable since the agreement was last updated in 2015. Claire Hood, TV organiser, said: “We are all pleased in Equity`s Record Media Department to have negotiated a deal that now reflects the ever-changing sphere of what is traditionally referred to as TV content, but now contains platforms such as video-on-demand subscription. The new agreement thus ensures that British television programmes and actors will receive a global platform and receive a happy remuneration. We have worked tirelessly to negotiate an agreement that reflects the true value of our players` contributions to the industry, while remaining up-to-date to reflect an ever-changing industry. (Updated price December 2019) Based on a 10-hour period, including the lunch break between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
